unexpected adventure
Back when we spent the weekend in Eden this summer, we had ourselves a little adventure.
Spencer had a soccer game early that morning, but then we had three hours to burn before we could check into our condo.
What exactly is there to do in Eden for three hours, you ask?
Not much.
After some extensive Googling I found some information that said there was a waterfall that could be reached after just a short walk, past the parking lot of North Fork park.
Perfect! I thought, we will bring a picnic lunch, eat reeeeal slow, then go see the waterfall.
Right behind Bekah, a nice stream is rushing by.
After a while we realized that my googled information had seriously underestimated the "short walk past the parking lot." It was definitely a real hike and we were totally unprepared.
But eventually we made it.
The waterfall was ok, I was expecting more actual, you know, water falling.
Then we hiked back.
And I laughed the whole way, that I, who hates hiking, had just taken the kids on a hike. (In our sandals with no water.)
At least unexpected adventures make for good photo ops.
(Now that so much time has passed, I can not remember for the life of me where Aaron was that day. He joined us later that night when Stick came up to Eden.)
