the fourth - 2013
We hosted a Fourth of July party for my family.
I was having so much fun, I only took a couple of pictures that day.
There were a few complaints this year about our lack of fireworks. You see, usually Stick is in charge of this event and he buys a MEGA box of fireworks. So many fireworks that it takes weeks, days, hours, an hour to detonate. My limit on firework detonation and observation is usually about 7 minutes, 10 minutes tops.
This year, Stick was at Scout Camp all week, so I was in charge of the firework festivities! (You know where this is going, don't you?) I bought a measly $10 box and then I split it in half (to share with Pioneer Day later on, of course). And, well, there were a few sparklers and pops too, 'cause I'm nice like that.
Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha!
Our party guests all brought some fireworks to add to the stash, but our firework display was still a little pathetic, if I do say so myself (Goal accomplished!). Fortunately, we have nice neighbors who had awesome fireworks so all was not lost.
The Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays and it's always fun to spend it with family. (Especially when your husband and two oldest sons are at scout camp!)
