weekend wrapup

  • Stick and the two big boys went camping Friday night with the Scouts.  Does it seem like they are ALWAYS camping?  Yes, it does.  (Better them than me.)  Rachel was babysitting and earning the big bucks.  The rest of us ate In N Out and watched Mulan.  Rockin' Friday night as usual.
  • Saturday brought soccer practice, girls shopping (where one of the boys after groaning audibly said, "This is the worst thing I've ever done!"), house cleaning, lawn mowing, etc.
  • The scouters came home and reported a successful camp out.  The camp out was a regional activity, there were about 20 other scouts groups there, and part of the fun included a timed obstacle course.  Awards were given at the end and our scouts won the whole event, even beating out Varsity Scouts.  Then they announced that one Scout leader did the course and had a time that was faster than any of the scouts.  None other than Stick, who sometimes forgets that he is 42 and not 12.  That's my man, Mr. Competitive and Mr. Impressive.
  • Saturday night brought GNO (aka Women's Conference) with my mom and a couple of sisters.  Wanting to stretch as much time as we could out of this once a year event, we started 2 1/2 hours early with a teensy shopping event and Mexican food.  Since my mom lives in my old neighborhood, I had fun saying hi to several old friends at the broadcast.  We finished off the night with treats and talking.
  • Sunday brought the bubonic plague to my head.  I spent a large part of the day in bed trying not to move or blink.  Sunday afternoon I managed to join the living by laying on the couch for hours. To distract myself from the bubonic plague, I turned on "Fiddler on the Roof" and was surprised to find out my children haven't been subjected to it's delights.  They may now tell you the word "delights" is a stretch.

These pictures have absolutely nothing to do with this post.

Other than cuteness.
