movie reviews
Valkyrie with Tom Cruise. Although I'm not much of a Tom Cruise fan anymore, I did like this movie. I thought it was well done and very thought provoking. I thought about it for a few days afterwards, wondering what I would do in similar situations. I finally got around to seeing Twilight last weekend. How do I say this nicely? Here's my review: Laughable. I really did not like it. I giggled through many parts while the actors were trying to be "brooding and moody." I've never seen so many awkward shots and odd actors. All the Cullens looked like they were 30+ years old, not High School students (yah, yah, I know they're immortal, but I thought their casting was lame.) I thought Edward running/flying/moving fast through the forest (whatever he was doing?!?!) was poorly done. So overall, two thumbs WAY DOWN. I'd tell you not to waste your time, but I figure I'm the last person in the universe to see it!
Maybe I was tainted because the whole time I watched the movie, I kept thinking about all the "Twilight obsessed" women out there. Really people? Is that the best book (series) you've ever read? Ever? Grown, (assumably) mature women obsessing over "Edward," a teenage vampire lover?
Fine, I'm a grumpy cynic. I can live with that. I will admit the first 3 books were entertaining (in a fluffy cotton candy sort of way). I've yet to read the last book. At this point I will definitely pass on the future movies.

Is the tom cruiz movie about hitler? I saw his one on that, it was ok.
Jake & I also got around to seeing Twilight and didn't care for it either. But the next one actually looks a little better. hmm...

I thought that Australia was EXTREMELY long. We enjoyed it a lot, but we thought it was over like 3 times before it was actually over. Still liked it but it was kinda annoying. I was tired by the time it was really done.
And I personally am not in love with Edward or Jacob, but I think it's a fun story and I enjoyed the fluffy movie. Why you gotta hate it? :)

Oh, and we liked Valkrie too, but I keep forgetting because I don't think that name is right for that movie, for some reason. It confuses me. And there's my intelligent movie review. :)

Twilight certainly wasn't all that it could have been. From what I hear, they didn't have a very big budget so a lot of things the director wanted to do got sacrified. Since the first one was so successful, the studio has increased the budget for the next one. I'm hopeful it will live up to at least part of the hype.
I liked Australia too. I mean, it's got Hugh Jackman. What's not to like??
