se me fue
"Se me fue" is a term commonly used in Ecuador. It means, "it left me". It's a fabulous way to negate responsibility in most situations. For example, if you lost your shoe, you say, "Se me fue". As in, "my shoe left me! I had nothing to do with it, it just up and trotted away!"
Those third world countries are so clever.
Unfortunately, my brain "se me fue". Yes, it's true, it left me! I'm pretty sure it left months ago at my mid pregnancy point and has yet to return.
I've been pleading for it's return and negotiating,
but to no avail.
I took Proto to a Birthday party last night. When the dad opened the door he looked at us expectantly, as if awaiting our sales pitch. Avon? Carpet cleaning? Newspaper subscription?
I said, "We're here for the birthday party!"
He replied, "The party's on Thursday."
whoops.
Where oh where has my little (emphasis on little) brain gone and when is it coming home? All the empty space inside my skull is getting lonely.
