oceanside 2012 - boogie boards & wedding bells

Thursday was another beautiful weather day.

We spent the day sitting on the beach watching the kids play.

Rebekah wanted to try a boogie board so Stick helped her get started.

Even though she only moved about 2 feet, she didn't like it.

Poor little terrorized girl.

Oh well, the rest of the crew love it!

Now, I have to admit, I was a little distracted in my boogie board viewing by the wedding taking place 3 houses down.

First we noticed that they were cleaning up their back yard and then they placed two surf boards at the end of a carefully raked sand aisle. Then they placed candles along the aisle. At this point we realized they must be getting ready for a wedding!  It was like the best reality tv show, but live!

Since I happened to be sitting on the beach with my camera and zoom lens in hand I couldn't help but sneakily take a few shots.

I felt a little bit guilty about it, but hey, if you're having your wedding on the beach, there are going to be uninvited onlookers. And those onlookers may just have cameras.....

The wedding was fascinating. It took forever!  First, there was a guy who played guitar.  He played the world's longest guitar song.  Then everyone sang along while he played more guitar. Then the officiator talked. And talked. And talked.  I would have loved to hear what he was saying.

Eventually the ceremony finished, and (I presume) they were pronounced man and wife.

Awwww, cute little happy hippy couple.
