dumpster divin'
Way back, years ago when I first started blogging I wrote about baby Harry who would not stop throwing things in the garbage can. (Here.)
~
Now he's turned full circle and become a dumpster diver.
Once every 3-4 months I have to take a deep breath, don a gas mask and do some heavy cleaning in the bedroom he shares with Spencer.
This is done most effectively when the kids are at school and I can throw toys junk away without getting caught. Today I found several items in his room that I know for a fact are items I've thrown away in the last few weeks. So he's obviously dumpster diving for treasures. Two thoughts on this: 1. ewww. 2. double ewwww.
~
I picked up the pillow on Harry's bed and discovered this treasure pile under it.
Now I occasionally sleep with two pillows, but it's never occurred to me to sleep with a teddy bear, a BYU towel, 2 plastic green frogs, 2 small wrenches, a bike lock, a cub scout day camp patch complete with beads, 2 pieces of stamped leather, a broken piece of black plastic, a key chain from Hawaii, a magnet, a flashlight, a small metal tag and a key chain flashlight under my pillow.
Spencer's bed was equally puzzling.
His pile wasn't under his pillow, but tucked in a blanket next to his pillow.
His pile included a felt baseball pillow, a large Mag light, a pocket knife, 8 assorted Lego toys, half a key chain, a really small screwdriver, a broken watch, a chap stick, a grout sample, his glasses case, a green rubber bracelet and a key chain flashlight.
It makes me wonder if there's a "Hoarders" kids version?
We would surely qualify.
