scenes from Memorial Day 2014
We had a fun Memorial Day.
I should probably clarify, we had a Memorial Night.
Stick had to work and the kids spent at least half of the day mowing the lawn and cleaning Stick's office.
But once all that boring stuff was done we had a fun family party. We had friends invited over, but then they couldn't come, so it was just us. Good thing we are so fun!
Starting the party off right with a nap.
The kids set up crochet in one spot, horseshoes in another and badminton in another.
Freshly buzzed bald headed boy.
One of our pet quails.
Why, yes, the party is half over and she's changed skirts.....
Mid-party nap.
Harry was here.
The boys don't like to be bothered with rules that dictate order and taking turns.
It's more fun when everyone is whacking at once.
Then the game evolves to "speed crochet" which involves whacking the ball as hard as you can, across the entire yard.
Who needs wickets anyway?
We finished off the night with family badminton.
It's always fun to play together and it works well with all the different skill levels we have.
Happy Memorial day, indeed.
