woe is me

So when Stick got up at 5ish this morning to go to work, he discovered we'd slept all night with the front door open. Now do not be alarmed, the screen door was closed. This oh so sturdy screen door could probably keep out even the most determined earth worm or homocidal moth. I feel safe about the whole event, knowing we could have all been clobbered in our sleep.

I was thinking last night about this girl I once knew. She was basically the complete polar opposite of me. No she wasn't short, or good at math or loved green peppers. What she was, was ORGANIZED. She had a recipe box filled with 365 cards. On each card was something to do/clean in her house each day. And, here's the best part. She followed the cards religiously. That's where her road and mine were (and still are) different.

Occasionally I aspire to be organized, but frankly it's just not in my genes. One in a blue moon I sit down and type up lists of things to do, ways to be organized and mostly "How to control the chaos in the house" lists. I feel happy and organized and oh so Martha. Then inevitably I tack the list up somewhere and never look at it again.

Someone else who's organized? Stick. That's why he's such a good engineer. He'd put Martha to shame. If you doubt this, just come on over and take a look at his sock drawer in relation to mine. It will all be very, very clear.

Just to clear up things:

Some of the tasks were in there multiple times so yes, the toilet got cleaned regularly, etc.
