Rebekah says, “I’ve been trying to pull my tooth out all week.” And she just informed me that she just finished reading the whole Book of Mormon. I think she’s taken speed reading/skimming to a whole new level.

Harry and Stick started thinking about his Pinewood Derby car this week. Every year we have the same discussion that the car can either look cool OR be fast but not both. We have two kids in our ward that win every year. Their dads are really hard core (one of them has a track in his basement). Harry says this year he wants to look cool because by next year those boys will be graduated and then he’ll do a fast car and try and win it all. He’s going to do a VW bus which will clearly be awesome, but probably not very fast.

Spencer finished the second day of the BYU Scout Pow Wow yesterday. He got to blast off his rocket and spend a lot of time wandering around the BYU bookstore, so obviously it was the perfect day. He started a new soccer team on Friday night. After practice he told me they had had a scrimmage and his team won and he scored all six of their goals. Ha! That’s my boy.

Thomas, Spencer, Rachel and Aaron all finished up Ski Blitz this week after four weeks of fun. Thomas and Spencer did skiing and Rachel and Aaron did snowboarding. They all really love it, and we love it because all we have to do is pay. The bus takes them up to Brighton and brings them home afterwards. And Thomas managed to not get run into at all this year, so that’s a plus!

(The bus ride up.)

Aaron’s been involved in the Robotics club at school for the last few months. This weekend was the competition at the E Center. His team built a robot that stacked recyclable tote bins, then stacked trash cans on top of the bins and then stacked swim noodles on top of it all. They didn’t win the competition but Aaron had a good time participating and plans to do it again next year.

Rachel spent Friday down at UVU for the SheTech Conference. It’s a day for girls to learn about Science, Engineering, Coding, etc. She thought it was interesting, but not really in a good way. At least she figured out that she did not want to do any of those things. And in her opinion the girls that were excited about SheTech were by and large, lesbians. So, um, there’s that. In other news, she went in for an interview on Friday to Western Gardens and got hired on the spot. So yay!

I’ve been on a quest this weekend to make the perfect pizza. There’s a place here in town called Pizzeria Limone and it is seriously so good. Like, my mouth waters every time I drive by, good. I read somewhere that you can take a free mini class on pizza making on Craftsy.com. So I downloaded the lessons (a show you watch) and the recipes, and tonight I started the dough. It’s not the kind of thing you can do at the last minute. The recipe has you make the dough and then refrigerate it for 24 hours. Now Pizzeria Limone has a brick oven and I don’t, but hopefully it will still turn out. The part of dough making that I always find challenging is the “you will know when it’s right by the feel” part. What feel?

I was just noticing your newest Hawaiian header and thinking about your kids. 1st your grocery bill must be huge to feed those big ol' kids. and second your middles and sure looking tall. and Hey no one's holding hands this year. Too old for that? I suppose. and Wow those Hawaiian mountain in the background look amazing. Are they actually volcanoes? probably.
