the new tree

Last night in a strange turn of events, we inherited the above Christmas Tree with all the trimmings. We drove through the dark and cold to a storage shed, and had our pick of several plastic wrap bound trees. One had a "metallic colors" theme. No thanks. One had a "pink and white" theme. No thanks. One had a "red" theme, but it was "frou frou red." Not "stylish red" like I prefer. So the above tree was our winner. In it's past life, (last month) it decorated the entry at Tuscany, I spotted it there at our Christmas dinner. Now it is decorating my garage. Next December it will decorate our house. In the picture it looks a little skinny and rumpled, because, well, it's a little skinny and rumpled. You would be too, if you had been bound up with plastic wrap and taken to a storage shed, then hauled out of said storage shed, and muscled (read: SUPER heavy and awkward) into the back of a Ford F350 and taken to a garage, only to be muscled out of the truck and placed in a garage!

As soon as I press "publish post" I am heading out to take off all the trimmings. Not an easy job considering each ornament is wired onto the tree. But, I'm up for the job. Anything, to put off the big stack of shirts that is waiting to be ironed today!
