yes I really did have this conversation

Rooney -"Mom!??!! Every single kid at school has a cell phone but me."

Me- "Do you realize that I went to grade school, Jr. High, High School and college and NEVER had a cell phone!"

Rooney- "Why?"

Me- "Because they didn't even HAVE cell phones back then! We had the wheel and fire but no cell phones."

Rooney- "Well, I'm gonna save up my money (what money??) and buy my own cell phone so I can play games on it!"

Poor little cell phone/video game deprived kid! He's apparently not concerned about his lack of phoning ability, only the lack of portable video games in his pocket.

Just for the record, Hootis has also informed my that she too is the ONLY kid at school without a cell phone.

I feel secure in the knowledge that if something happened at school, say an alien invasion or a tidal wave and my kids needed to call me, they could use someone else's cell phone. Since, EVERY one else has one!

Or they could light a fire and send a smoke signal like we did in the good old days.

Ahhh!

What a world.

I remember driving up to Webster and we had our old phone in the car. It was white and has a curly-cue attachment from the reciever to the phone. As we drove there, I was in the back holding the receiver so my friends would "think" (?) I was on a car phone.

That memory of mine always makes me laugh.

Wow, that is so true. All of Spooners kids have cell phones, all though Dill Pickle can't take it to school or mom's. Times have change though.

We have to put time restructions on Sports so she won't play with it durring school. Only before, on lunch, and after school.

What are these days coming to?

Um, is that a thing because of your new city you live in? Everyone up there is rich, you know.

Maybe I'll stay here in farm-land. :)
