In-N-Out or NOT
So our new local In-N-Out just opened. We thought we'd go eat there for my birthday night date, followed by a movie. As we drove closer to the spot, we could see about 30+ cars in the drive through line. I decided to go somewhere else. After eating at Pei Wei, we headed to the movie theater. The movie I wanted was sold out. We went to another theater, also sold out. We came home.
Yesterday when Stick and some of our kids where at the BYU game, I decided to rake up the leaves in the front yard. 15 big bags later, I decided to reward myself (and the sick kids at home with me) with In-N-Out for lunch. When I got there at 2:45pm, there were so many cars in the drive through line, that the local police where helping. The cars were out the parking lot, and down the street for several blocks. I stopped and talked to a guy that was half way down the line, he told me, "I've been waiting for 50 minutes." There were also about 40 people standing in line, OUTSIDE In-N-Out waiting to get inside. I groaned. I left. At this point it may be easier to just get some in California next time we're there. If the excitement doesn't die down soon, they may have to change their name to Sit-N-Wait.
And, to reinforce the fact that I just turned 38, somehow I pulled a muscle in my lower back yesterday while doing the yard work, and now I can barley walk/move. Raking leaves. Not moving boulders. Not chopping down a tree. Not digging trenches. Raking leaves.
It's been an odd weekend. But my new toy is still fun and there is homemade chocolate cake (compliments of Hootis) in the fridge, so I'll survive.

Utahn's do love a trendy, new thing, don't they? Reminds of the Krispy Kreme craze of a decade or so ago. Only the diehards will wait over an hour for the possibility of getting a burger. We just had In-n-Out when we went to Vegas last month, so I figure by the time I'm craving one again, the lines will be normal!
Sorry you hurt yourself--I raked on Saturday too and today I'm totally feeling it! I thought we were 38 not 78! Glad you had a good birthday all the same. I'll trade you a piece of the red velvet cake I made this weekend (belated birthday cake for me) for a piece of your chocolate. Deal??
