las bendiciones de la familia

In the spirit of the season, I also wanted to acknowledge my gratitude for these great kids.

~

Hootis is a great girl. She is motivated and always looking for ways to succeed beyond the norm. She's extremely helpful with the little kids. She's a good example for her brothers and a good friend.

Rooney is a burst of enthusiasm. He's a great student and does an amazing job of keeping ahead in his school work. He's competitive and playful. I like how his glasses are always on crooked no matter what I do.

Proto is thoughtful and steady. He is quietly confident. He's putting on a brave face due to a really sore hand. (We can't have a family party without one of our kids getting hurt.) We played a rousing game of Thanksgiving volleyball with what we thought was a volleyball, but may have been a bowling ball. Every contact with the ball left bruises and pain.

Brick is a bundle of emotion. He approaches everything with confidence. He knows he is the best, no matter what the activity. I like how he is obsessed with spelling lately. When he is trying to get my attention, and I am not cooperating he says in exasperation, "M-O-M!".

Houdini is a happy three year old. His best friend is Grandpa M. He is easily entertained, playing by himself for hours on end. He's been in a "belt" phase lately. Notice the yellow yarn tied around his waist, with a plastic wheel hanging from it? According to him, it's his "motorboat belt".

This little girl is a bundle of pink happiness. She smiles on command, is always willing to snuggle and is about as mellow as they come. She is loved to pieces.
