mini vay cay: summer 2013 -- pt. III
Sunday morning view from the hotel.
(I love to see the temple.)
Despite going to bed super late the night before, we had to get up early Sunday morning in order to eat breakfast in time to go to"Music & the Spoken Word".
The breakfast was really yummy, and the kids were sad that we didn't have more time to eat.
Conference center ceiling.
Harry forgot a few details in his Sunday attire....
(as per usual, when we travel)
He was really humiliated that he didn't have a tie.
Since Rebekah is too young, Stick stayed at the hotel with her.
I took these pictures when they were still rehearsing and before they said "no pictures please!"
Such a fun experience, we all really loved seeing the performance live.
Harry was especially disappointed that it was so short (only 30 minutes).
I loved seeing people from all walks of life there. There were people in Sunday clothes and people in jeans and tank tops. Before the program started they introduced and welcomed several large groups of visitors from other countries, including a group from Ecuador. (Viva la Ecuador!)
Stick and Rebekah met us afterwards and the kids really wanted to go to the top of the Conference center.
Turns out you have to take a tour to do this, so we joined one.
But, it became apparent after about 15 minutes that the tour wasn't really working for us. It was boiling hot and the kids (and me for that matter) weren't really interested in what the tour guide (senior missionary) was saying.
So we ditched our tour group, took a couple of pictures and headed out.
Rachel spotted this relic during a quick stop at the North visitor's center.
Who knew these still existed?!?!?!
And then we came home.
Our vacation lasted only about 22 hours.
But we loved it anyway.
