weekly 2014.11.30

We have had a fun week of celebrating! Aaron  turned 15 on Wednesday and was super excited to get a new iPod Touch and some Polymorphic plastic. He will happily demonstrate just how cool the Polymorphic plastic is next time you come over. Next on his agenda will be getting his drivers permit! (woah.)

We spent a fun 24+ hours in Ammon, ID for Thanksgiving and then went to Rockland for the last part of our trip.

The big kids all had cousins to play with but Bekah was too sad to not have someone her age to play with. She is the most social of our kids and struggles to keep herself entertained if there’s not a friend available. But she was thrilled to lose her first tooth while we were in Rockland. Spencer also lost two teeth while we were there. Rumor has it that the tooth fairy in Rockland pays more than usual, so I think they were extra motivated to get those teeth out.

While in Rockland we were looking for a movie to watch and I happened to see that “The Bad News Bears” back from 1970 something was on Amazon Prime. I totally remember watching this as a kid so we turned it on. Oh. My. Word. Either all the language went totally over my head as a kid or maybe I saw it on tv and it was edited. It was funny but it had a TON of language. In fact my father in law referred to it the next day as “The Bad News Swears”.  Do any of my siblings remember watching it? I wouldn’t recommend you let your kids see it. (Although my kids will tell you it was hilarious.)

Rachel finished her BYU application around midnight Wednesday. The final due date is tomorrow. I was super relieved when she clicked submit, but she got scared. I guess it made it all seem real. I’m not sure when we’ll hear back, but it is what it is for now!

Thomas gets his braces off this Wednesday. He is super excited and considering it his first Christmas gift of the season.

Harry gave me a slight heart attack on Wednesday when he got home from school and told me he left his Sphero on the bus. Remember the Sphero, the expensive robotic ball that the school just handed to him? I made a nervous call to the district transportation office, whose number I have conveniently listed with our emergency numbers (ha!), and sure enough they found it on the bus. They gave me the option of waiting till Monday to get it but I chose to hop in car right then and go get it. I didn’t think leaving it in their office over the holiday weekend was a good idea. Thankfully we got it back and we have had a good chat about transporting it to and from school in a way that is responsible!

I can hardly believe it’s December 1st tomorrow. Hopefully we can get our tree up tomorrow and start being festive! I spent our vacation working on our Christmas Cards. I’m super grumpy about them though, we ordered them through Costco and they came back super dark. I’ve stewed about it long enough that tomorrow I’m going to call and see if they’ll re-do them. Wish me luck!

I do NOT recall watching that as a kid. ehh?

Yippy for the loosing teeth.

Boo for forgetting the robotic thingy

I can try to help with the pictures of the card, unless they were fine when you ordered them and Costco printed them dark. I can try to help though. :)

they will re-do them but I have quit having my pictures printed at Costco. I don't know what they are doing different but the last time I had pictures printed there I had a years worth of photos sent plus all my family/kid pictures redone only to have them still dark. I sent them back again!
