We have had a strange week.
On Friday Travis got an elbow to the eye in basketball resulting in a big ol’ black eye along with a good sized cut under his eye that he taped shut with Steri-Strips.
Then Saturday night Harry was at a birthday party at Airborne. He had just done a double front flip and landed on his feet. But the momentum caused his head to whip forward and smash into his knee resulting in a split lip and a lot of blood.
Also on Saturday, Stick and Spencer were on Mt. Timpanogos. They had hiked part way up Friday night with the Scouts and camped. Then Saturday, they went the rest of the way up and the whole way down. Shortly after they got home, Spencer started to feel like something was stuck in his throat. It eventually got bad enough that it worried Stick, so he took Spencer to Primary Children’s Hospital. (I was in Lindon that night doing the General RS meeting, so I missed the split lip and the throat issues.) Even the doctors were puzzled for a while but eventually they swabbed his throat for Strep and it came back positive. They started him on antibiotics and sent him home. By then he and Stick were completely exhausted after a day on Timp and a late night ER run. Spencer slept for 14 hours straight, but seems to be feeling a little better now.
I am just waiting for Strep to hit every person in our family….uggghhhhhhhh.
Thomas and Rebekah both bore testimony today and did a great job.
Aaron did some more driving with me yesterday. For the first time ever we drove out of our quiet neighborhood and onto some streets with lanes, lights and lots of other traffic. Aaron was super stressed out, but he managed to do it. He has about 30 more hours of driving to do before December. ….uggghhhhhhhh.
Grandpa Mark gave Aaron some old video surveillance equipment and he’s about to die of joy planning Halloween pranks with it.
We had fun seeing Rachel at RS Conference last night (at Mom’s on TV). She is having so much fun at BYU and we all got a good laugh at her crazy stories. She and her roommate are doing great, and they’re both glad they rooming together.
I subbed in Primary today and begged Stick to help me ‘cause I knew the class would be difficult. I was right, but we survived.
