yarn a rama
Friday afternoon at the library, Hootis picked up a "How to Knit" book. She tried to learn from a book a few years ago, but couldn't figure it out. I'm no help, because I only know how to crochet. This time though, she was succesful and was happily knitting away before the night was over. All her industriousness (? Ok, fine, I made that word up.) with the mysterious knitting needles intruiged the boys, and before I knew it, Rooney started knitting, after instruction from Hootis.
Not wanting to be left out, Proto joined the knitting club this morning. Despite the fact that he's using chop sticks for knitting needles, he too has been sucessful. Then Grandma came over tonight for a visit and was able to show Brick the basics of crocheting, (he's going to need more help.) He's determined to crochet a scarf with "BYU" on it by the end of the week.
The boy below was not interesting in yarn crafts. He does have a cool Bakugan toy though. And yes, I cut his hair yesterday. Boo hoo, I miss his shaggy cuteness. He wanted to to have "really short hair" like Dad, so I had to comply.
It's all been quite amusing, I've never really seen the boys interested in anything remotely crafty. As Hootis put it yesterday, "Rooney?! You were the star of your basketball team this morning (he really did have a great game) and now you're KNITTING? Weird."
